Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Lucero, 79, of South Elgin, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 in the comfort of her own home. She was born on December 17, 1945 in Santa Clara, Durango, Mexico.
She is survived by her loving husband Mario Solis; children: Pep, Blanca partner to David, and Jr partner to Marlene; grandchildren: Ari, Taylor, Sophie, and Val; sister Bertha. Favorite human to her Frenchi, Luna.
She was preceded in death by her mother Maria Rodriguez Zarate and sister Juanita
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
