Employees who were furloughed and received unemployment benefits should have received a 1099-G form from the State of Illinois. This form is needed for filing a tax return, because UI benefits are considered to be income. Upon applying for UI, the online questionnaire asked whether the applicant wanted to receive tax forms electronically. Even employees who indicated that they wanted a paper form may have not received the 1099-G forms by mail. You can, however, retrieve the tax forms online by logging into the IDES system using the same username and password that you used previously: IDES Login
